Entourage Blu-ray Delayed on Eve of Final Season’s US Bow

The bad news about TV2 catching up with its screenings of Entourage is there’s now a broadcaster holdback on season seven’s Blu-ray release.

It goes on sale in the US and Australia on July 13 but won’t be available here until after it screens on TV2.

When is still to be determined as TV2 has yet to schedule the penultimate season of the insider Hollywood comedy.

Meanwhile, the eighth and final season will go out with a big bang in the US from July 24.

TV Guide reports it will star The Big Bang Theory’s Johnny Galecki as “a tweaked version of himself” and that creator Doug Ellin also is trying to land Charlie Sheen before shooting wraps a month from now.

“I called his manager and was told maybe I’d get him,” Ellin told TV Guide. “But I’m still waiting for Charlie to call me back. I’d come up with something good.”

He also reckons Entourage’s Jeremy Piven would make a great Sheen replacement on the next season of Two and a Half Men.

However, The Hollywood Reporter recently cited Warner Bros executives as saying Piven wasn’t in contention.

TV2 has only five more episodes, including tonight’s, of season eight to play.
