TV1’s newest reality half-hour, Posh Pawn, which will screen 7.00 Saturdays from February 6, didn’t get the flashest reviews. Quipped The Guardian: “I’m not suggesting that the target demographic is dead-eyed subhumans without two brain cells to rub together, but I would like to see a species breakdown of its viewing figures.” The Telegraph thought it entertaining but carped it “glosses over the harsher realities of the pawnbroking industry” while The Independent said the Channel 4 series “isn’t nearly as engrossing as its punning title suggests” …

Showtime has renewed another SoHo series, Billions, after only two episodes. Reports Variety: “Already breaking an all-time high record for the cabler with its series premiere that brought in 2.99 million viewers across all platforms, with delayed viewing factored in, Billions attracted a total audience of 6.5 million, according to Showtime. The impressive bow is up seven percent from Ray Donovan, which was the previous record holder with 6.1 million viewers across all platforms” …

If you missed The Zone’s premiere of The Magicians on Tuesday, The Hollywood Reporter’s critic suggests it’s worth conjuring up on My Sky before episode two: “This entertaining series delivers more than sleight of hand in post-Potter landscape.” The Zone is airing it 8.30 Tuesdays, the same day as Syfy in the US. You can catch the premiere again 9.30 on Saturday …
