TV3 will screen the network movie premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opposite TV2’s network movie premiere of the Oscar-wining 12 Years a Slave. The two will go head-to-head on May 15, with The Hobbit getting nearly a two-hour jump on Slave: the former will start at 7.00, opposite TV2’s My Kitchen Rules and the latter at 8.45. With commercials, The Hobbit’s journey will be even longer: three-and-a-quarter hours …

The same weekend TV2 will screen in HD Bad Boys (8.40 Saturday), Homefront (11.00 Saturday) and 7500 (11.20 Sunday). TV3’s HD movies will include the premiere of The Last Airbender (7.00 Saturday), What Lies Beneath (9.00 Saturday), Apollo 13 (11.15 Sunday), Pitch Perfect (8.30 Monday) and Green Zone (8.30 Wednesday) while Prime will cap the week with In Bruges (9.30 Friday) …

From May 16, TV3 will try to perk up 7.30 Mondays with All Star Family Feud. The series will launch with 7 Days’ Jeremy Corbett, Paul Ego, Urzila Carlson and Tom Furniss taking on Jono and Ben’s Jono Pryor, Ben Boyce, Guy Williams and Laura Daniel …

All Star Family Feud’s premiere will coincide with TV One trying to dent the 5.25 weekday quiz show’s appeal by replacing Millionaire Hot Seat, which has been starting at the same time, with the hour-long The Chase, which will get a half-hour head start on Family Feud by screening 4.55 weekdays …

TVNZ OnDemand rather than TV2 will premiere the newest Shonda (How To Get Away With Murder, Grey’s Anatomy, ScandalRhimes series, The Catch, on May 18 — which isn’t surprising given most of her shows have been ratings casualties for the network …
