Not so prime 60 Minutes … When Jimmy met Megan … Wildest Westworld yet

Prime has yet to confirm when President-elect Donald Trump’s first TV interview since winning office will air on 60 Minutes. It screened today in the US and should have been fast-tracked for broadcast here. Instead, Prime will tonight run the originally scheduled episode about the war against ISIS, artificial intelligence and social media influencers. You might have expected it to air next week but that won’t happen because Prime’s pre-empting the Australian-compiled newsmag on November 21 for its Pike River special. That means the earliest it can air here will be the 28th, which is too long to wait for a scoop of this scale and means its “12 biggest takeaways” will be incredibly stale …

Appearing this week on Prime’s The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon are: Jeremy Renner, Michelle Dockery and magician David Blaine (10.30 tonight); Billy Bob Thornton, Andy Cohen and musical guest Little Big Town (10.45 Tuesday); Warren Beatty, Naomie Harris, Robbie Robertson and musical guest Aminé (10.45 Wednesday); Jude Law, Sterling K. Brown and musical guest Macklemore ft. Ariana DeBoo (11.15 Thursday); Nicole Kidman, Michael Shannon and musical guest Miranda Lambert (11.40 Friday) …

The Hollywood Reporter reckons tonight’s Westworld (SoHo, 8.30) is “the HBO drama’s biggest episode yet”. Prefacing its review with the warning it contains “massive spoilers”, the trade paper says: “Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) evokes the words of William, Shakespeare, as he closes the book on the latest episode of Westworld, and opens a new chapter for the story moving forward. With one single scene, the HBO series from Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy leaps forward onto a dangerous new path, completely shattering two characters — one of them dead, and another transformed forevermore” …

Fans of The Walking Dead won’t want to miss tonight’s instalment, in which Michonne makes “a surprising decision” (TVNZ 2, 9.35). Variety has an interview with the actor who plays her (Danai Gurira) while THR in its recap predicts: “It’ll be fascinating to see during the rest of the season who inverts and who wants revenge and who goes into warrior mode.” Neither article should be read before the broadcast …
