The Telegraph reckons it doesn’t even come close to TGBBO. “But the moment in the opening episode, in which pottery designer Keith Brymer Jones – one of the show’s judges – burst into tears when a nervous contestant’s pots turned out better than expected, was certainly one of the most endearingly human of the TV week” …

TV One’s new local drama, Dirty Laundry, will anchor 8.30 Wednesdays for the network from September 21, on a double-bill with the latest season of Love Child.  From Filthy Rich creators Rachel Lang and Gavin Strawhan, it stars Jennifer Ward-Lealand as a money-laundering matriarch whose arrest shocks her unwitting family. TV One will repeat the series late-night on Fridays to help maximise viewership …

Mike & Molly ends its run on September 21, with the series finale leading in to the season 10 premiere of The Big Bang Theory. Star Melissa McCarthy next will be seen in the Gilmore Girls revival and is producing her next TV project, a family comedy about  a successful type-A man and his estranged sister, plus her two children, living under one roof …

Quanitco concludes its first season on September 20 but season two can be streamed on TVNZ OnDemand two days later. Also streaming this month are new seasons of Blindspot (from September 15), Black-ish (from September 22), and Grey’s Anatomy and How to Get Away With Murder (from September 23). The latest seasons of Gotham and Agents of SHIELD premiere on Duke on September 22 and 23 respectively. Sadly, all these HD series will be streamed or broadcast in SD …

In other comings and goings: Shameless begins its sixth season on September 20 (TV2, 11.30) … 24 hours later Brooklyn Nine Nine resumes its HD run on TV2 from episode 11 of season two … Exiting TV2’s schedule on September 23 are The Voice Australia and Strip Date  … The same week Prime farewells 9 Months That Made You, And Then There Were None and Back Benches

TV3 will air three hours of repeats back-to-back on September 22 but the good news is it has an impressive new slate to replace Beach/Territory Cops, Lost & Found and Caught on Camera from the following Thursday …

TV3 has rescheduled the network movie premiere of Gone Girl for September 18, when it will compete with TV2’s debut of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I
