HD Lure for Fisher Fans

Six Feet Under fans at last can look forward to seeing the Fisher family in HD when season three starts on Sky’s SoHo channel on May 4.

HBO made the first two seasons of the Alan (True Blood) Ball drama available only in SD for the first two seasons.

Unlike The Sopranos, which was in HD from the outset, it seems Six Feet Under initially was shot in 4:3 SD and didn’t switch to 16:9 until season three.

S3 developments include: Nate settling into the role of husband and doting dad; Claire having issues reigning in Phil, her philandering boyfriend; David and Keith giving couples therapy a try; and Ruth becoming attached to her granddaughter Maya.

Guest stars include Kathy Bates as Ruth’s new pal Bettina; Catherine O’Hara as Carol, Lisa’s neurotic boss and landlord; and Patricia Clarkson as Sarah, Ruth’s troubled sister.

Meanwhile, if you missed season two, SoHo will re-run it as a ‘box set’ weekend on May 5-6.

Subsequent weekends will feature seasons one of Boss (May 12-13), two of The Sopranos (May 19-20) and two of Treme (May 26-27).

Meanwhile, The Sopranos also starts its third season next month (9.30pm Mondays) while The Hour will be re-run ahead of the second series screening later in the year (8.30pm Tuesdays).
