HD Ratings: Another Loss for Lost & Found

Dancing With the Stars won its Monday night slot in three of the four core commercial demographics but this wasn’t enough to restore the ratings fortunes of lead-out Lost & Found.

The latest season of the family reunion series had been a top-rating staple in its new Monday slot before Three confused viewers about its pre-emption for an Olivia Newton-John miniseries on May 28.

After part one of ONJ tanked the previous night, Three hastily re-instated a L&F repeat ahead of part two and the show’s viewership halved week-on-week.

Monday’s L&F was the first original episode in two weeks and while it rated higher than the repeat, it was still several points shy of its season highs.

It averaged 4.2% of 25-54s and 3.2% of 18-49s off the back of DWTS’ averaging 6.9% and 5.4% in the same respective demos.

L&F was beaten in these demos by the second half of TVNZ 1’s movie, The Hundred Foot Journey, but out-rated TVNZ 2’s sitcoms.

L&F lead-out Inside Crime also took a hit, with averages of 2.7% and 2.3%, but still won the 9.30 hour with 25-54s and 18-49s.

There was more good news for Three with DWTS narrowly out-rating TVNZ 2’s My Kitchen Rules in the 25-54 demo for the first time in weeks and level-pegging with 18-49s.

DWTS also won on Sunday night with a 25-54 rating of 6.6% and an 18-49 rating of 5.2% against TVNZ 2’s Survivor NZ and TVNZ 1’s The Real Camilla: HRH The Duchess.

The rest of the night was dominated by movies, with 2’s premiere of London Has Fallen and Three’s repeat of The Heat splitting the 25-54 audience (4.1%) to top 1’s disastrous premiere of My Week With Marilyn (1.5%).

Marilyn rated better among 40-64 years-olds (3.1%) but still finished third.

On Saturday, 1’s Britain’s Got Talent won its slot among 25-54s and 18-49s while Three’s family movie 2012 crushed 2’s The Goonies.

But 2’s The Lone Ranger out-gunned Three’s Alien vs Predator: Requiem.

Friday night again belonged to Three, with its light-ent block dwarfing 1’s dramas and 2’s movies.
