HD Ratings: Bake Off Takes the Cake

TVNZ 2’s The Great Kiwi Bake Off out-rated Three’s Australian Ninja Warrior for the first time in the 25-54 demographic on Tuesday.

The cooking show averaged 5.6% vs 4.9% for the first hour of ANW, although the latter averaged 5.3% for its 100-minute broadcast.

Bake Off also won the 18-39 demo and was competitive with 18-49s but lost in every quarter-hour segment among household shoppers with kids.

ANW seesawed with TVNZ 1’s Outback Truckers (4.9%) in the 25-54 race but was easily ahead in the other core commercial demos.

Bake Off’s popularity lifted lead-out Australian Survivor’s ratings, which averaged 4.2% of 25-54s and 3.0% of 18-49s.

It lost to the last 40 minutes of ANW but out-rated the first half of Three’s NCIS: Los Angeles in these demos.

TVNZ 1’s Bad Habits: Holy Orders, finished third, with 3.0% of 25-54s and 1.9% of 18-49s.

Earlier, Seven Sharp beat The Project in the 25-54, 18-49 and HHS/k demos but the latter was tops with 18-39s while Shortland Street averaged 6.4% – 10.4% of these demos.

TVNZ 2 won all the night’s key demos except 18-49, where it level-pegged with Three.
