HD Ratings: Bikie Drama a Triumph for TV3

TV3’s fast-tracking of the latest season of Sons of Anarchy helped it to blow away the competition on Tuesday.

The bikie drama’s final season premiere won in each of the major demographics, averaging 5.3% – 7.3% off the back of The Block NZ’s all-conquering 10.0% – 13.0%.

These were the network’s best Tuesday night numbers in months, and sets the scene for more growth next week when Block and Anarchy will sandwich another fast-tracked hit, The Blacklist.

The extra-long Block was well ahead of TV One’s struggling My Kitchen Rules NZ (3.9% – 7.8%) and TV2’s Don’t Trust Andrew Mayne (7.0% – 8.4%).

Against SOA, The Mentalist averaged 4.2% – 6.1% and Unforgettable a respectable 2.7% – 4.5%, which improved on last week’s season premiere.

TV2’s The Amazing Race: Australia v NZ was the 8.30 loser, with only 3.1% – 5.0%, while lead-out Embarrassing Bodies Down Under also came third, with 2.5% – 3.1%.

As a result, TV3 won the night across all four key demos.
