HD Ratings: Chair Bigger Than House

Despite its irresistible title, TVNZ 2’s Wednesday night documentary, The Woman Who Ate a House, was devoured by Three’s repeat of Graham Norton’s Big Red Chair Special.

The latter averaged 4.0% of the 25-54 demographic compared to House’s 2.5%; TVNZ 1’s competition, Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby, averaged 3.9%.

In TVNZ 2’s target demo, Woman averaged 2.3% of 18-49 vs Chair’s 3.6% and Lobby’s 2.9%.

The competition was closer among 18-39 year-olds and household shoppers with kids but Chair was still top dog.

Chair had the benefit of House Rules as its lead-in. The latter overlapped the start of Woman and averaged 5.2% to 25-54, 5.0% of 18-49 and 4.3% of 18-39 to win in all these demos.

But among HHS/k, it lost to 2’s Family Food Fight (6.1%).

FFF also out-rated 1’s Purina Pound Pups to Dog Stars and Gate to the Globe in the 18-49 and 18-39 demos but not 25-54.

At 6pm, 1 News won in all the key demos while lead-out The Extreme Cake Makers topped Three’s The Project; Shortland Street averaged 7.8% – 10.3% of the core demos.

TVNZ 1 won the night with the biggest share of 25-54 but Three had the lion’s shares of 18-49 and 18-39; TVNZ 2 won with HHS/k.
