HD Ratings: Critter Couples Capture Viewers

TV One’s relaunch of its peak-hour wildlife strand in an earlier slot earned it unsually high ratings for the 7.30 Tuesday hour.

The irresistible World’s Oddest Animal Couples averaged 5.5% – 12.1% of the key demographics to beat the competition among adults 25-54 and household shoppers with kids.

It was the network’s star attraction of the night but TV2 still dominated, with Shortland Street (12.5% – 17.4%), Nabbed (9.2% – 12.9%) and Cops Uncut (9.2% – 11.7%).

At 8.30, Step Dave took a step backwards, with only 7.3% – 7.8% of the key demos, which was up in some demos but down in others.

It lost to TV3’s NCIS (4.4% – 8.1%) in the 25-54 and HHS stakes but out-rated it among adults 18-39 and 18-49.

At 9.30, Revenge (4.7% – 5.7%) also had the edge on NCIS: LA (3.4% – 6.9%) in the same demos but lost to it in the others.

However, only a week ago the NCIS combo was all conquering.

Overall, TV One posted the biggest gains week-on-week while TV2 and TV3 had mixed results.

Tuesday’s peak-hour HD channel ratings and shares were:
