HD Ratings: Dundee Not a Done Deal

Most viewers opted to skip TV One’s premiere of Tuesday’s Kangaroo Dundee.

The series that’s stolen the hearts of Britons averaged a dismally low 2.8% – 3.6% of the major demographics: adults 18-39, 18-49, 25-54 and household shoppers with kids.

It scarcely got off to a running start with Aussie lead-ins Surveillance Oz and Australia’s Deadliest struggling against TV3’s Ockers on the block.

Surveillance Oz averaged 4.7% – 6.6% and Australia’s Deadliest 4.5% – 4.7% against The Block: All Stars’ 8.1% – 12.5%.

This delivered NCIS a big enough audience to win the 8.30 hour (6.6% – 8.4%) with all the key demos except adults 18-39 (4.6%).

Instead, they were seduced by TV2’s Fool’s Gold, which rated 4.7% – 6.9% over two hours and largely won its second hour against NCIS: LA (2.6% – 5.9%).

Earlier in the night, Shortland Street was 2-5 times more popular than the competition, with a 12.6% – 15.9% average.

However, the popularity of The Block: All Stars and the NCIS franchise helped TV3 to post the biggest peak-hour shares of its target audience, adults 25-54 (25.8%), and HHS (27.4%); TV2 had the biggest share of adults 18-39 (28.1%) and 18-49 (25.2%).
