HD Ratings: Fast & Furious Week for Three

Three capped a wining week on Sunday when it out-rated TVNZ’s channels in all the core commercial demographics.

The network easily scored the highest channel shares in the 25-54, 18-49, 18-39 and household shoppers demos with its line-up of The Block NZ and the movie Furious 7 (ahead of tonight’s I Am Paul Walker documentary).

The first half-hour of The Block lost to TVNZ 2’s Shortland Street but thereafter Three owned the night.

In the demo that matters most to the network, 25-54, The Block averaged 7.9% and Furious 7, 3.9%.

The first half-hour of Furious 7 saw 25-54 viewers switch to TVNZ 1’s The Curious Mind, which won the 8.30 hour with a 5.0 rating.

But the 18-39 and 18-49 demos stayed with the movie and helped it to average respectively 3.4% and 3.6%.

TVNZ 2’s repeat of the movie Tammy averaged 2.2% of 25-54 and 1.8% of 18-49 on the back of The Pacifier’s 5.2% of 25-54 and 4.6% of 18-49.

Three also won Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights in the 25-54 demo, thanks to The Block, Westside, NCIS and Hawaii Five-O winning their slots.

Season four of Westside bowed out with 5.4% of 25-54 vs 3.6% for 2’s Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back and 3.3% for 1’s Criminal Minds.

But lead-out True Medical continues to be an abject failure for Three, with last week’s ep averaging merely 1.1% of 25-54 — the same as 1’s Lucifer — opposite Station 19’s 2.8%.

Last week also was a better week for Three’s The Project, beating 1’s Seven Sharp on Monday and Thursday in the 25-54 demo, and rivalling it on Wednesday and Friday.
