HD Ratings: Go Girls Goes Backwards

The new-look Go Girls appears to be losing old fans rather than gaining new ones.

The re-cast fifth season struggled out of the gate last week and last night shed more viewers, despite a celebrity guest turn by One News anchor Simon Dallow.

It averaged 6.9% – 8.9% of the major demographics, which is a surprising setback for a show that once scored double-digit ratings.

Its household shoppers viewership virtually halved, from 13.6% on the back of blockbuster My Kitchen Rules to 7.3%.

The decline wasn’t as dire in other demos but still was down nearly four rating points with adults 18-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Go Girls won the slot in the 18-39 demo, which is TV2’s target audience, but even so it opened with a 10.8 rating and ended with a 6.7 rating.

Go Girls’ early season slump allowed Galapagos With David Attenborough to largely win the 8.30 hour with a 5.7% – 11.2% average while NCIS finished third on 5.0% – 7.8%.

NCIS: Los Angeles averaged 5.3% – 6.7% to out-rate HD rival Revenge (4.0% – 5.4%) in each of the major demos while Fringe ended its run with 1.9% – 3.1%.

Early in the evening, Shortland Street had another stonking night, with an 18.9% – 27.5% rating, while HD comedies Modern Family and Go On both improved from the previous week: the former averaged 5.1% – 6.7%, and the latter 4.0% – 5.0%.

  2. Funny not! Modern Family is funny, Go On is just another tired yank ‘comedy’.
