HD Ratings: Go Girls’ Woes Worsen

TV2 drama flagship Go Girls scored record low ratings in key demographics on Tuesday, when it was largely beaten by TV3’s NCIS.

The Kiwi drama averaged only 6.3% – 6.7% of adults 18-39, 18-49, 25-54 and household shoppers.

It comfortably won the 18-39 demo that TV2 targets but lost in the others to NCIS (5.5% – 9.9%) and was down sharply on the previous week’s 7.5% – 10.4%.

Without My Kitchen Rules to bolster the 7.30 hour on TV2, Go Girls had a weaker lead-in from repeats of The Big Bang Theory (11.4% – 12.5%).

They were still untouchable but allowed TV3’s HD sitcoms to surge: Modern Family averaged season highs of 7.1% – 9.7% for one its funniest episodes yet and Go On, 5.1% – 8.1%.

Lower ratings for Go Girls flowed through to Revenge averaging only 3.8% – 5.0%.

However, NCIS: Los Angeles (3.9% – 7.1%) failed to capitalise on this because of exceptional ratings for TV One’s SD doco, Death Row: Inside Indiana State Prison (6.9% – 8.7%), which also out-rated SD lead-in The Polar Bear Family and Me.

Despite TV2’s Go Girls woes – it even lost to NCIS among females 18-49 – TV2 still had higher peak demo shares than TV3 for the night, thanks to Shortland Street (16.1% – 24.3%) and BBT — although the two networks were much closer when TV3’s +1 figures were included.
