HD Ratings: Magnum Rebounds Off The Block

After weeks of low ratings, Magnum P.I. bounced back on Wednesday to average 3.4% of Three’s 25-54 demographic.

It still lost to TVNZ 2’s Wentworth (5.6%) but was ahead of TVNZ 1’s Manhunt (2.7%) and helped the return of Hawaii Five-O to win the 9.30 hour with 2.4% of 25-54s.

The pattern was the same in the 18-49 and 18-39 demos but Magnum finished third among household shoppers with kids; H50 also won its slot in all the other core commercial demos except HHS/k.

Magnum lead-in The Block NZ: Firehouse won the 7.30 hour with 18-49s and 18-39s demos but lost to TVNZ 2’s Travel Guides in the other top demos.

There was similar seesawing between TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street and TVNZ 2’s Station 19, with the former ahead in the 18-39 and HHS/k demos but behind in the 25-54 and 18-49 stakes.

In the 25-54 demo, Coro even lost to Prime’s Can’t Pay? We’ll Take It Away.

The gap between 1 News and Newshub Live was closer than usual, with the latter winning in the 18-39 demo; the same was true of lead-outs Seven Sharp and The Project.

The night generally was tightly contested but TVNZ 2 wound up with the biggest shares of all the key demos.
