HD Ratings: New Life for Fair Go and House Rules

Shifting TV One’s Fair Go from  7.30 Wednesday to 7.30 Monday boosted the consumer show’s ratings at the same time as TV3’s House Rules doubled its Monday night viewership.

Their extra eyeballs came at the expense of Australian Survivor, which dropped more than a point in the 25-54 demographic.

Fair Go averaged 8.9% of this demo and lead-out Life Flight, in its season premiere, 7.7% compared to Survivor’s 5.3% and Rules’ 4.7%.

In TV2’s 18-49 demo, Survivor averaged 4.8% (compared to 5.5% the previous week), Fair Go 6.6%, Life Flight 6.6% and Rules, 4.3%.

A week earlier, Rules, in its season premiere, was struggling to top 2.0%.

Fair Go’s ratings improved from 8.3% of 25-54s and 5.4% of 18-49s for its last Wednesday broadcast.

A weaker Survivor leading in to Wentworth led to its losing against Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders in the 25-54 stakes but the prison drama still won among 18-49s.

And TV One’s poaching of Hillary Barry largely improved Breakfast’s 25-54 ratings.

It lost the 8am hour to Paul Henry Live (1.2% vs 2.1%) but rated much stronger from 7am-8am (4.0% compared to 2.3% the previous Monday) and was up a point from 6am-8am.

Henry was down slightly from 6am-7am (1.1%) and up slightly from 7am-8am (3.0%).

In peak-time, TV One won the 18-49 and 25-54 demos while TV2 took 18-39 and household shoppers with kids.

Below are the primetime ratings tables for Monday in the 25-54, 18-49 and 5+ contests (the first number under the programme’s title is the rating average and the second number the channel share):
