HD Ratings: Ninja Warrior Rebounds

Australian Ninja Warrior rebounded from its Sunday night lows on Monday to win its slot in three of the four core commercial demographics.

The unfolding of the semi-finals, with 30 Ninjas competing for just eight places in the grand final, averaged 5.8% of Three’s 25-54 target audiences vs 5.4% for TVNZ 2’s Project Runway NZ.

And although the opening half hour lost to TVNZ 1’s Fair Go (6.2%), it out-rated Border Security (6.3%) in its second half-hour.

In the 18-49 and 18-39 demos it won outright but lost to Project Runway among household shoppers with kids (5.3% vs 7.4%).

ANW’s popularity helped lead-out 9-1-1 to win with 25-54s (5.8%), 18-49s (5.4%) and 18-39s (2.1%).

Australian Survivor, which started midway through 9-1-1, averaged 3.3% of 25-54s, 1.9% of 18-49s and 1.5% of 18-39s but won with HHS/k (4.6% vs 2.7%).

TVNZ 1’s Take Two averaged 1.8% – 3.9% of the key demos and lead-out, The Trial: A Murder in the Family, 0.6% – 1.4%.

TVNZ 2’s The Walking Dead was tops among 25-54s and HHS/k while earlier, Seven Sharp beat The Project in the 25-54 and 18-49 demos but lost to it in the 18-39 and HHS/k demos.

TVNZ 2 won the night with HHS/k, TVNZ 1 with 25-54s, and Three with 18-49s and 18-39s.
