HD Ratings: No Big Bounce for TV3

Replacing bikies with bouncers didn’t stop Once Upon a Time from largely winning the 9.30 hour on Wednesday.

It averaged 4.6% – 7.6% of the key demographics, opposite TV3’s SD premiere of Bouncers in the Sons of Anarchy slot, where it rated 4.1% – 7.7%.

It narrowly topped Time among household shoppers with kids but lost to it in the 18-39, 18-49 and 25-54 demos.

Time’s ratings weren’t great but its shares were, ranging from 22.1% – 30.0% of the demos watching at the time.

TV One’s Hostages ended its run but scarcely anyone noticed, with the finale averaging only 1.3% – 2.0%.

Lead-in House Husbands fared better — 3.1% – 5.9% — but was out-rated by 3rd Degree (4.6% – 5.0%) in all the key demos except HHS.

Both, however, were dwarfed by TV2’s The Big Bang Theory (10.1% – 12.2%) and 2 Broke Girls (9.4% – 12.9%).

A double-episode of Mom also won the 7.30 hour where, on the back of Shortland Street’s 12.0% – 16.3%, the first episode averaged 9.4% – 11.4% and the second, 8.8% – 10.7%.

Week on week TV2’s ratings and shares dipped while TV One’s and TV3’s generally were steady.

Wednesday’s peak-hour HD channel ratings and shares were:

  • Adults 18-49: TV One, 4.7 rating/17.3 share; TV2, 8.5 rating/31.5 share; TV3, 4.6 rating/16.9 share
  • Adults 18-39: TV One, 3.9 rating/15.4 share; TV2, 8.7 rating/34.0 share; TV3, 4.4 rating/17.2 share
  • Adults 25-54: TV One, 5.5 rating/18.3 share; TV2, 8.7 rating/29.1 share; TV3, 5.2 rating/17.5 share
  • HHS: TV One, 5.7 rating/18.2 share; TV2, 10.6 rating/34.0 share; TV3, 5.9 rating/18.9 share.

  1. Stupid TV3 should have the new series of 24 to screen on Wednesday nights but it seems all they care about nowadays are boring reality shows with LOTS of annoying beeps 🙁

  2. I’m looking forward to the new 24 SOOOH MUCHHH!
