HD Ratings: Restaurant Doesn’t Deliver

My Restaurant Rules judges Colin Fassnidge and Judith Tabron.

The opening night of TVNZ 2’s My Restaurant Rules was carved up in the ratings by Three’s Married at First Sight NZ.

It averaged 3.8% of the network’s target audience, 18-49 year-olds, compared to MAFS’ 4.7%.

The race was tighter in the 25-54 demographic, with MRR averaging 5.1% and MAFS, 5.8%.

The gap widened among 18-39s — MRR was a point behind — while MAFS had the biggest lead among household shoppers with kids: 7.2% vs 5.8%.

MRR’s weakness compared to the previous Monday’s Celebrity Treasure Island was bad news for lead-out Seven Year Switch.

It went from winning all the core commercial demos a week earlier to finishing second in all, except 18-39.

It lost to TVNZ 1’s Wild Bill, which went out on a high with 4.3% of 25-54s and HHS/k, and 3.0% of 18-49s.

The final of Thee’s The Gulf couldn’t close the gap, with averages of 1.7% – 3.4%.

Nonetheless, Three’s SVU carried the 9.30 hour in all the key demos except 18-39, who opted for TVNZ 1’s Q + A.

Earlier, 1 News at 6 led Newshub Live except in the 18-39 demo but lead-out Seven Sharp lost to The Project in every key demo except 25-54.

TVNZ 1 won the night’s biggest shares of 25-54s and 18-49s while Three held sway with 18-39s and HHS/k.
