HDTV Heads-Up: June 23-29

The Mentalist returns in the last week of June to displace GCB from its 8.30 Tuesday slot.

The Texas spin on Desperate Housewives, which was axed after only one season, will shift to 9.30 Tuesday and Necessary Roughness will move back to 10.30.

TV2 will precede the season-four premiere of The Mentalist with a re-run of the two-hour, season-three finale on June 23.

According to Entertainment Weekly, “The Red John storyline has taken so many twists and turns since last season’s epic finale that that storyline has largely taken a backseat to other fun capers.

“But that won’t be the case all season … The second half of the season … will see more action from this fan-favourite storyline.”

Also returning the same week in HD are Rescue 1 (TV2, 8.00 Thursday) and Supernatural (TV2, 10.35 Friday) while having their network HD premieres are the suffragette drama, Votes for Women – What Really Happened? (TV One, 8.30), and the movie Robin Hood (TV3, 8.30 Sunday).

Other HD highlights for the week starting June 23 include:
