HDTV Ratings: August 17-20

TV3’s HD re-run of Transporter 3 on Monday largely won its two-hour slot opposite TV2’s Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice double-bill.

The action thriller averaged 8.6% – 10.6% of the key demographics, compared to Grey’s 10.2% – 11.4% and Practice’s 5.2%- 8.1%.

With TV3’s target audience, 25-54 year-olds, Grey won the first quarter hour but Transporter 3 won the rest of the hour.

Grey won the hour outright with the 18-39 and 18-49 demos but was neck-and-neck with Transporter 3 among household shoppers.

TV One’s 8.30 HD drama, Unforgettable averaged 4.2% – 6.7% and stablemate Missing, 4.0% – 4.8%.

TV3’s Sunday HD movie re-run, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, did just that with viewers, averaging only 4.9% – 5.6% of key demos compared to Sex and the City 2’s 7.5% – 9.4% and Tangiwai’s 3.0% – 6.2%.

At 7pm, Modern Family had to settle for leftovers (3.1% – 4.0%) from the contest between The Zoo (6.4% – 11.2%) and The Big Bang Theory (9.9% – 10.6%).

On Saturday, Hyundai Country Calendar mustered 5.9% – 11.2% opposite The ITM Fishing Show’s 2.4% – 2.7%, while CSI:  New York averaged 4.6% – 5.1% and CSI: Miami 3.6% – 4.8%.

Friday’s Graham Norton repeat averaged 7.4% – 8.4% but TV2 dominated the night with The Voice Australia, although TV One’s comedy line-up proved popular with its 25-54 audience.

  1. Transporter 3 really was a load of old cobblers. Only positive note was that it was in widescreen, not just chopped down to fit into a 16×9 hole.
