HDTV Ratings: May 6-8

Last night’s return of CSI: Miami proved to be only marginally more popular than time slot predecessor The Good Wife, which was dumped after only three weeks.

TV3’s season-nine premiere drew 4.2% of 18-49 year-olds, 5% of 25-54 year-olds and 5.9% of household shoppers with kids.

The last episode of The Good Wife to air 9.30pm Sunday, on April 3, achieved the same 18-49 and 25-54 results but only 5% of HHS/kids.

However, by pushing Wife back to 10.25pm, TV3 has sharply boosted late-night viewing, with last night’s episode drawing 2.8% of 18-49 year-olds, 3.5% of 25-54 year-olds and 4.5% of HHS/kids.

The rest of the night’s HD ratings were undistinguished, with Modern Family dipping in the key demos and The Middle rising slightly other than with HHS/kids.

After several strong weeks, TV3’s ITM Fishing Show couldn’t crack 5% of the key demos on Saturday, and had around half the viewership of TV One’s Hyundai Country Calendar (which also was down on the previous week).

But Friday’s movie-length Lady Gaga episode of Glee rated above the season average, with 8.6% of 18-49, 8.9% of 25-54 and 11.8% of HHS/kids.
