My Sky + … Movies in December

Six of this year’s Oscar contenders will screen for the first time in HD on Sky next month, including best picture Argo.

Director and star Ben Affleck’s controversial take on the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979 will debut on Movies Premiere on December 8, ahead of Flight’s arrival on December 22.

Sister channel Movies Extra will bow Anna Karenina on December 14, Hitchcock a week later and Lincoln on the 28th.

Sky also is premiering Wreck-It Ralph on December 29, for the resurrection of its pop-up school holiday channel, Movies Family.

And three of Peter Jackson’s Oscar-winners start new HD seasons on Movies Greats: the first two Lord of the Rings movies, on December 7 and 14, and King Kong on the 21st.
