New Tales — and Episodes — for SoHo

Silicon Valley creator Mike Judge’s latest, Tales From the Tour Bus, will premiere next month on SoHo, a couple of weeks after its Cinemax launch in the US.

Cinemax (Outcast, Strike Back, Banshee) is an HBO sister channel and Tales From the Tour Bus is its first animated series.

Judge narrates the eight half-hours, which recount “raucous on-the-road adventures of musicians as told by those who knew them best”, complete with animated interviews and reenactments, and archival live-action footage and photos.

Subjects include Johnny Paycheck, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Blaze Foley and Billy Joe Shaver.

Tales will screen 10.00 Thursdays from October 5, following new episodes of Episodes at 9.30 and Curb Your Enthusiasm at 8.30.

The first season of Curb in six years will screen four days after its US premiere while Episodes will have virtually completed its fifth and final season on Showtime by the time it debuts here.

The latter opens several months after season four. Matt’s miserable about his new game show being a runaway hit because he’s now thought of as a game show host rather than an actor while Sean’s loathsome ex-partner is now in charge of Sean and Beverly’s new project, The Opposite of Us.

Said IndieWire: “The Showtime comedy digs into its main characters’ emotions — or what’s left of them — in a final season worth savouring.”

  1. Curb premiering four days after its US airing is a shocker. Day and date is what people expect now, if not live!

  2. I don’t have any issue with this. Four days is ok for me. Not for Game of Thrones, though.
