New to Lightbox in January

Lightbox is resurrecting for new episodes a stunning Danish drama that originally aired on TVNZ 1.

Season two of Ride Upon the Storm can be streamed from January 12 and last month won two of its stars International Emmy Awards.

If you haven’t seen the electrifying first season, which aired 9.30 Sundays earlier this year, it’s already available to stream.

Another NZ exclusive next month on Lightbox will be the newspaper drama Press, which rolls off the Spark platform from January 2.

From Doctor Foster’s Mike Bartlett, it follows journalists and editors at two rival British newspapers: a thriving, sensationalist tabloid and a prize-winning left-leaning broadsheet struggling to adapt to the age of digital news and the 24-hour news cycle.

Charlotte Riley (Peaky Blinders), Priyanga Burford (London Spy), Al Weaver (The Hollow Crown) and David Suchet star.

Also unique to Lightbox will be seasons two of Future Man (from January 2) and 8b of Suits (from January 24).

Rounding out the Lightbox premieres will be new episodes of Girlfriends Guide to Divorce (S4 from January 29) plus S4 of Westside (from January 6), Devil’s Playground (from January 9), and S1 of Mariah’s World (from January 30),

Box set additions will include Teen Wolf (S1-6 from January 4), Profiler (S1-6 from January 8), Life (S1-2 from January 8) and First Time Farmers (S1-2 from January 23).
