New to TVNZ OnDemand in April

Next month TVNZ OnDemand will fast-track from the US the new Noah (ER) Wyle drama, The Red Line, and belatedly premiere Danish thriller Those Who Kill.

The Red Line (streams weekly from April 18) sounds like an ambitious American Crime-style drama, told from the varying perspectives of three vastly different families whose lives are traumatised when a white Chicago cop shoots an innocent African-American doctor.

Wyle plays a dedicated high school teacher mourning the loss of his doctor husband while facing up to being the single parent of his adopted daughter.

Those Who Kill (full season from April 18) follows a Copenhagen detective’s investigation of a 17-year-old’s abduction she suspects is still alive — even though she seems to have been snatched by a serial killer who, six months later, abducts another teenager.

It was made in 2011 and led to a poorly reviewed US version in 2014.

TVNZ OnDemand also will stream weekly season two of Killing Eve from April 8 (the same day it airs on TVNZ 2), a reboot of the Survivor-like Shipwrecked from April 9 and season two of Deep State from April 29.

Local newcomers will include the return of Poker Face from April 5, with a new line-up of Kiwi celebrities willing to take on the challenge of keeping a straight face in the name of charity, and new OUTtv content from April 15.
