SoHo Comedy Goes to Pot

HBO’s adaptation of an award-winning online comedy about a Brooklyn drug dealer will premiere here late next month.

hbo20160811High Maintenance will screen 9pm Thursdays on SoHo from September 29, nearly two weeks after it launches in the US.

Created and written by Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair, it stars Sinclair as “The Guy”, a friendly, nameless pot dealer with eccentric clients played by a wide array of New York artists from theatre, TV and film.

Guest stars include Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey), Yael Stone (Orange is the New Black), Hannibal Burress (Broad City), Heléne Yorke (Masters of Sex), Greta Lee (Girls), Lee Tergesen (Outcast) and Peter Friedman (The Affair).

The series will continue the vignette structure of its web counterpart.

“We have been growing this show organically for three years now, and we are elated to bring it into full maturity at HBO, the gold standard of both online and televised entertainment,” Blichfeld and Sinclair said in a statement when the six-episode commitment was announced.
