TV3 Dumps Married at First Sight USA

It’s not even been love at second, third or fourth sight for TV3 viewers.

So decisively have they rejected Married at First Sight USA that the network is pulling the reality strip from primetime and relegating it to Saturday afternoons, starting this weekend when it will replace re-runs of Community and Bob’s Burgers.

The rescheduling will have a domino affect on the rest of the schedule TV3 has announced for the next two weeks.

Replacing it on Monday will be the movie, Battleship, which also will pre-empt All About Steve at 8.30.

Replacing it on Tuesday will be Wedding Surprises: Caught on Camera (which was going to air September 1) while season five of Grand Designs Australia will resume 7.30 Wednesday.

Replacing Wedding Surprises on September 1 at 9.30 will be Holiday Horrors: Caught on Camera, which originally was slated to start on September 8.

On September 5 at 7.30, TV3 will re-run the movie Snow White the Huntsman, which also will pre-empt This Means War at 8.30.

Family Feud All Stars: Bachelorettes vs Real Housewives, which was going to premiere on September 8, will now screen on September 6 at 7.30.

Screening September 8 at 7.30 will be Employable Me, a series about British job seekers with conditions like Tourette’s or autism.

Married at First Sight USA rated disastrously from the outset and on Monday was beaten even by Prime’s Antiques Roadshow in the 25-54 demo.

  1. I thought they were a bit ambitious milking that series … Great to see some FOUR programmes starting to emerge on TV3.

  2. Exactly, it seemed risky to air the US version in a stripped multi night format and sometimes the US versions of shows don’t quite work here etc The Voice USA. Maybe a 8.30 slot once a week would suffice. I guess House Rules will be deployed sooner rather than later to plug the holes in primetime.
