When Harry Met Meghan …

TVNZ 1 is the latest broadcaster to snap up the royal romance documentary, Prince Harry & Meghan: Truly, Madly, Deeply.

It will screen on December 13 at 8.30, instead of the previously scheduled re-run of Prince Harry in Africa.

Variety reports ITV has clocked up a “raft of sales” for the sweethearts profile, which has sold to more than 100 territories.

Expect other broadcasters, most likely Prime, to offer a BBC alternative, Harry and Meghan: A Royal Engagement, which aired this week in the UK.

ITV screened its doco on November 6. Here’s the blurb:

Amid rumours of an imminent engagement between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, this new documentary charts the history of their romance and asks who is the woman the fifth in line to the throne wants to marry.

The film will tell Meghan’s story, from childhood to her career as an actress, model, successful businesswoman and human rights ambassador. It will examine how Meghan can fit in to the world’s most public family, but also what her arrival will do to the British Monarchy.

But The Daily Telegraph was not impressed:

Royalty-watchers requiring a refresher course on Harry’s love life … may have enjoyed the breezy romp through the archives. But as portrait of a famous woman whose interior life remains strictly off limits this cut and paste job was a right royal letdown.
