Lightbox on the Ball With Saul

Vikings and Outlander are the latest series that Lightbox will stream here in HD within hours of the US.

Part two of Outlander’s first season will be available from from April 5 while Vikings’ third season premieres on February 20.

Lightbox also is “express” streaming the latest seasons of Black Sails and Suits, and reports record streams for Monday’s premiere of Better Call Saul.

Spark reports the first two episodes of the Breaking Bad prequel were the most-viewed of a show in a single day since Lightbox launched in August 2014 — up 37% on regular Monday night traffic.

Its popularity mirrors that of the US, where Saul’s premiere drew a record 6.9 million viewers to become cable TV’s highest-rating series premiere ever.

Lightbox CEO Kym Niblock says Lightbox’s content team knew Better Call Saul would be a game changer as soon as the exclusive rights were secured.

“The public have been waiting with bated breath to see how Vince Gilligan and company would follow a show that was near perfection.

“They’ve absolutely nailed it and Lightbox is proud to bring this iconic series to Kiwi screens express from the US.

“It doesn’t stop with Better Call Saul. We’re bringing more television goodness express delivery from the US including new seasons of Suits, Black Sails, Vikings and Outlander for Kiwis to enjoy in their own time with the freedom of zero ads.”

Just wish that Lightbox would work on a device I already have. Not interested in going and buy a laptop with HDMI / iPad / game console. I already have an Apple TV box, Chromecast and WDTV so I don’t want to buy more.

  2. Yes, Lightbox is badly hampered by the limited devices it will work on. Picture and sound quality are on the poor side of mediocre, too. As for Saul – meh!
