7 Days Outshines MasterChef

The largely unassailable MasterChef Australia lost the 7.30 hour on Thursday to Three’s 7 Days in the core commercial demographic.

The long-running panel show drew 84,487 viewers in the 25-54 demo (4.12 rating/23.33 share) vs the cooking contest’s 75,546 (3.68 rating/20.17 share).

TVNZ 1’s season premiere of RPA finished third, with 60,395 viewers (2.94 average/16.55 share).

Three continued its dominance at 8.30, when Double Parked averaged 60,131 viewers (2.93 rating/18.55 share) — although lead-out Homebound 3.0 shed nearly a third of this audience.

TVNZ 1’s Rich House Poor House locked in 42,335 viewers (2.06 rating/14.42 share) and TVNZ 2’s Australian Survivor 34,622 (1.69 average/13.65 share).

The night’s most-watched programmes in the 25-54 demo were: 1 NewsThe Chase (5.30), Newshub Live at 6pm, Seven Sharp,  Shortland Street7 DaysMasterChef Australia, RPADouble Parked and The Chase (5.00).

The channel shares were: TVNZ 1, 25.23; Three, 21.56; TVNZ 2, 16.81; Duke, 4.88; Bravo, 3.33; Rush, 2.30; Eden, 2.18; Prime, 1.50;  HGTV, 0.65.
