About
ScreenScribe.tv is your daily guide to HDTV technology and content in New Zealand and beyond: displays, channels, DVRs, Blu-ray releases, home theatre gear and gadgets … Scribe Philip Wakefield has reported on and reviewed the film, TV and home video business since 1984 — two years after he bought his first video recorder for $2000! When not watching HDTV, he reviews Blu-rays for The Dominion Post and contributes articles about consumer electronics. He reviewed movies for The Evening Post from 1987-2002, was the paper’s daily TV columnist from 1984-1985 and 1994-1998, and its films-on-TV critic from 1989-2009. He also has served as the NZ correspondent for Hollywood trade papers Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, and was chief correspondent for the defunct NZ magazine Onfilm.
