Game on for Thrones, Fargo, Leftovers and Badlands

Sky will premiere season three of Fargo on SoHo and Neon within hours of the US and has confirmed it will simulcast season seven of Game of Thrones day and date with HBO from July 17.

HBO this morning announced the premiere date for GoT’s penultimate season, which Sky will simulcast weekly on SoHo and Neon.

As for the new season of Fargo, it’s set in 2010 and will screen 9.30 Thursdays from April 20.

You’ll scarcely recognise Ewan McGregor in his dual roles as Emmit Stussy, the Parking Lot King of Minnesota, and his slightly younger brother, Ray, a balding and pot-bellied parole officer with a huge chip on his shoulder who blames Emmit for his lot in life.

Their sibling rivalry leads to murder, mobsters and cut-throat competitive bridge.

Carrie Coon, who co-stars as the local police chief, also will be seen next month in the third and final season of The Leftovers (8.30 Mondays from April 17).

It opens four years after season two, when the Garvey and Murphy families – who met, clashed and bonded last season – are desperately grasping for systems of belief to help better explain that which defies explanation.

Also returning to SoHo, for its second season, is Into the Badlands (9.30 Wednesdays from April 19).

If you missed the first season, it can be seen as box set on April 8 while earlier seasons of Fargo can be seen both weekdays on SoHo and Prime (12.25 weekdays from Tuesday).

SoHo’s other box set weekends for April will include Legion, Baskets (season two), Big Little Lies, Homeland (season six) and Versailles.

Baskets has just been renewed, along with three other SoHo attractions: Billions, Taboo and Feud (the focus will be Prince Charles and Princess Diana).
