And Now for Something Completely Different in HD

The Blu-ray of Monty Python’s farewell concert in London will be released here on November 13, just four days after the UK.

It will go on sale as a DVD ($20), Blu-ray ($25) and Limited Deluxe Edition ($75).

The Deluxe Edition will contain the DVD, Blu-ray and exclusive audio of the show across 2CDs, and a 60-page hardback book of photographs of the making of the show and of the live show itself.

The reunion of the surviving Monty Python team on stage was filmed live on July 20, on the final night of the run of ten sold-out performances at The O2, London — although some critics accused them of “flogging a dead parrot“.

Monty Python Live (mostly) – One Down Five to Go combines modern twists on their classic sketches and songs with film inserts from Monty Python’s Flying Circus and Terry Gilliam’s iconic animations.

Highlights include The Dead Parrot, the Lumberjack Song, the Spanish Inquisition, Spam, Nudge Nudge, Argument, the Four Yorkshiremen, the Bruces and with a sing-along of ‘Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life’ as the grand finale.

TVNZ has licensed it for NZ broadcast but exclusive to the discs are: “sneak peeks” of The Reunion – November 2013, The Announcement – November 2013, The Production – November 2013 to July 2014, and Backstage at The O2 – July 2014; Highlights from the 10 Shows at London’s O2 Arena – July 2014; and footage of the Pythons as Pepperpots and Gumbys.
