Avatar Goes AWOL on Disney+
Disney+ has removed Avatar from its streaming service ahead of the movie’s theatrical re-release in 4K HDR on September 22.
It will also be shown in cinemas with 3D, IMAX and 4DX-compatible projection systems .
While that’s bad news in the short term for Disney+ subscribers, it means the movie will look better than ever when it’s reinstated on the platform in the higher resolution.
Reports FlatPanelsHD: “We expect Avatar to return to Disney+ in the enhanced 4K HDR version later, but it is nevertheless a greedy move to deprive subscribers the option to rewatch a movie ahead of a sequel – and hopefully not a new trend.
“It is still available to buy or rent on VOD services such as the Apple TV app and Vudu.”
Chances are Disney+ will adopt the same strategy for the re-release of another James Cameron blockbuster, Titanic, which will receive a 3D, 4K, HDR and high-frame-rate remaster cinematic makeover for its 25th anniversary re-issue early next year.

Its okay, we’ve got even better quality content now, like Obi-Wan and She-Hulk…
Watched the first ep of She-Hulk, it was great but with eps 2 +3 it seems to be running out of steam, 9 eps may be too many …
