Big Bang Gets Big Bump
TVNZ 2 will fast-track the final episode of The Big Bang Theory so it screens here within hours of the US.
The hour-long series finale will air in The Simpsons’ 7.30 Friday slot, on May 17.

TVNZ 2 to air the final ever episode of The Big Bang Theory
It’s time to say goodbye to Leonard, Sheldon, Penny and the gang … The Big Bang Theory is nearing the end of its run, having recently filmed its 276th episode and the series finale.
When this episode is broadcast in the coming weeks, The Big Bang Theory will become the longest running multi-camera comedy in TV history (exceeding Cheers’ previous record of 275).
The Big Bang Theory has been on TVNZ 2 screens since it first launched in New Zealand on 17th September 2008. Across the years, TVNZ’s airings of all the episodes have reached 84% of all New Zealanders to date*.
Over the past decade, The Big Bang Theory has consistently made the top three comedy series on NZ television. It has taken out the number one spot for 6/10 of those years*.
The final ever episode will air Friday 17th at 7:30pm on TVNZ 2. Fast-tracked especially for Kiwi fans, the series’ conclusion will broadcast here just a couple of hours after America.

Goodbye to something that we all enjoyed so much, it’s a show to remember. But we do need something fresher looking.
But why on earth have a goodbye to The Big Bang when its repeating at 6pm daily? It’s very stupid. Do you think we should be gaining a brand new series? What about Murphy Brown instead?
