Blu-ray Alert: Sopranos and Songbirds

The complete first seasons of the musical comedy, Glee (which airs 8.30 tonight on TV3), and the groundbreaking gangster drama, The Sopranos, are among the TV-on-Blu-ray releases scheduled for between next month and the end of the year.

Dates have still to be confirmed but expect both to go on sale in October, along with the first seasons of Hung and V.

The second volume of Doctor Who’s fifth season is earmarked for August 4 and the first season of Rome a week later (hitherto, both seasons could only be bought together). Also slated for August is the original Underbelly and World War II in Colour and HD while due in September are Generation Kill and season 13 of The Simpsons.

November should see The Pacific out on Blu-ray, along with a repackaged Band of Brothers, and by year’s end expect seasons one of The Vampire Diaries, two of Fringe, five of Supernatural, six of Entourage and a box set of the first two seasons of True Blood.
