Blu-Ray Bargains for November

Budget-priced Blu-rays abound next month with Warner Bros and 20th Century Fox joining Universal in making $15 the new benchmark for back-catalogue titles.

Fox is re-issuing the first two Ice Age and Garfield movies, Robots, Eragon and Edward Scissorhands for $14.99 each (complete with digital copies).

The Blu-ray of Ice Age 3 is being saved for FoxPack Plus repackaging with a DVD and a digital copy of the movie for $30.

Other FoxPack Plus titles include Night at the Museum and its sequel, Horton Hears a Who, Fantastic Mr Fox, Tooth Fairy, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, Aliens in the Attic and the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies.

And WB is launching later in the month a new budget range of double-features and multi-packs as well as repriced “Platinum” titles like 10,000BC, The Departed, The Shawshank Redemption, Blade Runner and Blood Diamond.

The Platinum releases will have the same content as the original Blu-rays but have been repackaged to sell from $15-25.

The double-features will be priced from $25-$45, depending on their vintage.

Typical of the pairings are Valentine’s Day and The Blind Side, 300 and Clash of the Titans, Troy and Alexander, and the Batman movies.

There also will be $80 multi-packs aimed at male and female audiences.
