Border Hit Secures TVNZ 1 Ratings
Replacing first-run episodes of Barkley Manor with repeats of Border Security has boosted TVNZ 1’s Tuesday night viewership in the network’s core commercial demographic.
This week’s episode averaged 46,088 25-54 year-olds vs 29,712 for the dogs’ show in the same slot the previous week.
That equalled a 16.0 share of the key demo vs a 9.4 share.
But Border Security’s popularity was buoyed by lead-in SPCA Rescue rating better week-on-week, increasing its 25-54 viewership from 47,788 (14.9 share) to 54,731 (18.5).
That’s because TVNZ 2’s Travel Guides Australia retreated from its exceptional high the previous week.
Its 25-54 viewership dropped from an extraordinary 88,114 (27.6) to a more typical 52,302 (17.9 share) — partly due to a much lower lead-in from Shortland Street, which halved its 25-54 viewership week-on-week (from 74.298 to 37,423).
Three’s 7.30 juggernaut Married at First Sight Australia dipped from 85,228 demo adults to 77,422 but its share was largely the same (27.2).
At 8.30, TVNZ 1’s Mt Hutt Rescue rebounded from 34,298 viewers (13.7) to 42.965 (17.0) vs 24,509 (9.7) for TVNZ 2’s CSI: Vegas (the previous week the procedural drew 26,269 viewers, or an 11.7 share).
Three’s SAS US improved week-on-week, from 19,267 (9.9 share) to 26,809 (13.4).
It overlapped TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street (20,228/13.5 share) and TVNZ 2’s Unbelievable Moments Caught on Camera (10,562/7.1 share).
