Can Redemption Redeem Itself?

TVNZ 1’s Grand Designs UK ended its run on Sunday in winning form but new crime drama Redemption couldn’t capitalise on its lead-in.

The Kevin McCloud series averaged 2.76% of the network’s core commercial demographic, 25-54 year-olds, to earn a 19.56 share (or 56,589 viewers) and rank as the seventh most-watched programme of the night

It out-rated Three’s network movie premiere of The Gentlemen (2.21 rating/19.91 share) and TVNZ 2’s re-run of Mr & Mrs Smith (1.63/rating/15.86 share).

But lead-out Redemption could sustain only a third of its viewership. The series premiere averaged a 0.84 rating/8.83 share (or 17,290 viewers).

  1. Ouch even little watched HGTV outrated Prime on Sunday even though they had The White Lotus. Something needs to be done to arrest its falling ratings. It should the very least be coming fourth behind the big 3 channels.
