Subtitles and Lancaster Land on DocPlay
Lancaster, a documentary about the role of the British bomber in the outcome of WWII, began streaming this week on DocPlay ahead of its December 8 DVD release.
“This no-frills documentary features gripping tributes to the plane and lost pals from surviving airmen, now in their 90s.” said The Guardian while The Times acknowledged: “This sturdy account, with lots of striking details, sees no need to be preachy and judgmental about the damage done by British bombing raids.”
Lancaster can be ordered on Blu-ray from the UK but its DVD-only release here means that DocPlay is the only NZ platform where you can view it in HD (along with stablemate Spitfire).
This week DocPlay also announced it was supporting closed captions across a select range of titles.
To access closed captions, subscribers can choose the subtitles option from the settings menu in the video player or click the [CC] option in the web player.
To find titles with closed captions enabled, simply type the keywords “closed captions” or “subtitles” in the search bar.
DocPlay will add closed captions to more titles over the coming months.
