Dana Delany Drama Gets Debut Date

One of the new HD dramas that TV One will screen next year, Body of Proof, has just had its US premiere date announced.

The police procedural starring Dana Delany (Desperate Housewives, China Beach) and Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager) will debut on ABC on March 29.

It may sound like a Quincy ME update with a gender twist but is more akin to The Good Wife meets CSI.

Delany plays a divorced neurosurgeon with a seven-year-old whose brilliant career as the first female department head of a university hospital goes belly-up after a car accident.

Five years later she finds work as a coroner who solves murders by discovering clues within corpses.

TV One programmers view Body of Proof as one of their brightest prospects for next year, having seen the pilot at the LA Screenings in May (US TV Guide rated it then as one of the “14 solid bets for the fall”).

The series was meant to have gone to air on ABC in October but was delayed while the network ironed out kinks in its own schedule after a rocky start to the fall season.

It’s not known how soon after the US premiere TV One will launch the show.
