Disney+ Confirms Eternals Debut

Marvel’s Eternals will stream exclusively on Disney+ from January 12.

It will become the 14th Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to stream in IMAX Enhanced on Disney+, which technically provides more picture with an expanded aspect ratio for what Disney+ claims is “an immersive viewing experience at home” (more information is available here).

Eternals has grossed more than $US400 million worldwide, despite scoring the lowest CinemaScore and Rotten Tomatoes grades of any MCU release.

The movie is named after a group of heroes from beyond the stars who have protected the Earth since the dawn of man. They reunite to defend humanity against the mysterious return of monstrous creatures called the Deviants, long thought lost to history.

It stars Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh.

Kit Harington co-stars as Dane Whitman, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena.
