Disney+ Cracks the Whip

The first four Indiana Jones adventures will stream on Disney+ from May 31, ahead of their re-issue on individual 4K-UHD discs and the June 29 opening of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Presumably Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will stream in 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, although Disney+ hasn’t confirmed this.

Disney+ also will stream the TV series The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones.

Disney+ has gained the movies and TV show as part of a shared rights deal with Paramount, which produced them.

Although it acquired the future franchise rights to Indiana Jones in 2013, the first four films remained under the control of Paramount until now.

Fans who wanted to buy the best entries in the franchise on 4K-UHD disc, namely Lost Ark and Crusade, have had to collect them bundled with the others in a box set.

But for the first time, each title is about to be released separately on 4K-UHD disc.

They go on sale in the US on June 16.

Even though I have already got the Indiana Jones movies on DVD and Blu-ray I’m looking forward to seeing them again on Disney+, also The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones, I loved watching them on TV, they are brilliantly done 😁

  2. Indiana Jones will always be a trilogy in my mind, that monstrosity of a movie (Crystal Skull) should have killed the franchise, but as we know, Disney has proven it’s unable to come up with new ideas, and just continues to flog dead horses with mediocre remakes and sequels …

  3. I’m trying to decide which Indiana Jones movie I love the most but it’s so hard so it’s a draw 🤔

  4. I reckon Last Crusade has aged the best, thanks to Connery, then Lost Ark, Temple and, a long way back, the soulless Crystal Skull.

  5. I definitely agree about Sean Connery as Indy’s dad, he is so funny. I have a feeling he enjoyed making The Last Crusade more than any James Bond movie 😁

  6. I’d go Temple, Last Crusade and Raiders myself, I can never unsee the reflection of the snake in the glass … As I’ve already said, Crystal Skull is a bad nightmare that needs wiping from our collective memories. I have and will never have any interest in the ‘GOD Daughter and the Dial of Destiny’ movie.

  7. I’m looking forward to seeing The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones, according to what I read on Twitter it’s a re-edited version done by George Lucas with scenes added and in chronological order. Hope it’s in HD 😁👍🏻
