Disney+ Scores Class of ’09
The FX crime drama Class of ’09 will stream exclusively in NZ on Disney+.
The topical series will premiere on June 21 and hopefully will be in 4K-UHD — which is how it streams on Hulu in the US.
It follows a class of FBI agents set in three distinct points in time who acclimate and grapple with immense changes as the U.S. criminal justice system is altered by artificial intelligence. Reads the blurb:
Spanning multiple decades and told across interweaving timelines, the series examines the nature of justice, humanity and the choices we make that ultimately define our lives and legacy.
The limited series stars Atlanta’s Brian Tyree Henry as Tayo, one of the most brilliant and unorthodox agents to ever join the bureau, and House of Cards’ Kate Mara as Poet, an unlikely recruit who finds herself at the centre of the FBI’s most radical transformation.
It was generally well reviewed, with Rotten Tomatoes summing up the consensus thus: “Class of ’09 hardly flunks out thanks to an impressive cast and intriguing structure, but anemic execution keeps this series far from being valedictorian.”

Having watched the first episode of American Born Chinese on Disney+ I was impressed and puzzled as to why they dropped all 8 episodes at once. It’s well worth watching 😁
