Due on Blu: Avengers: Infinity War

The latest Avengers adventure, Infinity War, will go on sale on 4K-UHD Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and Blu-ray on August 15.

The Blu-ray editions will boast two hours of extras and some retailers will offer packaged bundles with earlier Avengers movies, with both The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron being re-issued on 4K-UHD at the same time.

Here’s the press release:

Go behind the scenes of the No. 4 film of all time to gain exclusive access to more than two hours of never-before-revealed details of its unprecedented, ten-year cinematic journey which includes an inside look at the surprising superhero pair-ups, deleted scenes and more!

Box office history was made when Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War shattered all opening records, surpassed the $2 billion mark at the global box office in just 48 days, and remains the fourth highest-grossing film of all time. Now, the cinematic event ten-years in the making comes on Aug. 15 with over two hours of bonus.

Marvels’ Avengers: Infinity War is a must-own addition to every in-home film collection and is packaged several ways so that fans get the most out of their viewing experience.

The Blu-ray Edition’s never-before-seen bonus material grants behind-the-scenes access to MCU members and features the memorable moments when characters first meet, the rationale behind some unexpected on-screen pair-ups, and a funny superhero gag reel.

Featurettes explore the frighteningly powerful Thanos and two action-packed attempts to prevent his collection of all six Infinity Stones: the struggle on Titan and the massive battle in Wakanda. Deleted scenes and filmmaker commentary reveal even more on-set secrets from Marvel Studios’ monumental undertaking.

And for those who wish to catch up on their MCU history, select retailers are also offering bundled packaging as well as individual digital and physical releases of Marvel’s The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron. JB Hi-Fi also will have an exclusive Steelbook edition (different packaging, same content).

What is the aspect ratio of Infinity War on UHD Blu-ray? The IMAX one or 2.39.1?

  2. I doubt it will be the IMAX ratio but will check with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment NZ.

  3. I see it’s being released on iTunes on July 31st, I might get it then 🙂

  4. Here’s the full US press release, which confirms the aspect ratio will be 2.39:1.

  5. Cheers. It was definitely worth the trip up to Auckland for the IMAX experience, highly recommended for IMAX!!!!
