Due on Blu: Ghostbusters

Ghostbusters: Answer the Call Extended Edition kicks ass on digital HD from today and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray in two weeks’ time with more than 15 minutes of new footage.

Both the Blu-ray and digital releases have the extended edition and theatrical version plus more than three hours of extras.

But fans should hold out for the Blu-ray, which uses the movie’s “dynamic frame break effect” to create the impression of proton streams and ghosts leaping off the screen in what Sony Pictures dubs will be “the ultimate in-home viewing experience”.

It also has a Dolby Atmos mix that’s been engineered for home theatre use.

Here’s what to expect extras-wise:

  • Three making-of shorts: Meet the Team, Visual Effects: 30 Years Later, and Slime Time
  • Filmmaker commentaries
  • Jokes A Plenty: Free for All
  • Six Jokes-A-Plenty alternate take reels
  • Photo gallery
  • Two gag reels
  • Four deleted scenes
  • 11 alternate scenes and more than 60 minutes of additional extended/alternate scenes with Ultraviolet download
  • Five featurettes with the Blu-ray exclusives: Chris Hemsworth is Kevin and The Ghosts of Ghostbusters.

Sounds like fun, I wish they had more 3D movies that pop out of the screen 🙂

  2. I got some great news today, I won from Fatso a Blu-ray of the new X-Men movie, YIPPEE 🙂
