Due on Blu II: TV Shows and Modern Classics

Thunderbirds are go on Blu-ray (again) — along with a raft of movie and TV classics in September.

Next month six volumes of the ’60s sci-fi puppet hit will be re-issued on single-disc Blu-rays while making their HD debuts will be two BBC natural history series (Nature’s Great Events, which TV One is screening 5pm Sundays in SD, and Yellowstone), Doctor Who: Season 5, Volume 3, the delayed Day of the Triffids re-make, season one of Glee and season 13 of The Simpsons.

Fans of Luc Besson can choose from Subway, The Fifth Element and The Last Battle, Adam Sandler diehards will delight in seeing Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison on HD, and there’s a swag of modern classics to collect on Blu-ray, including Easy Rider, Midnight Express, Donnie Darko and A River Runs Through It.

Fresh off their multiplex seasons will be When in Rome, The Blind Side, A Single Man and Hot Tub Time Machine, and there’s also a Jackie Chan release that bypassed cinemas, The Spy Next Door.

In order of release will be:

September 1 – Minority Report, Road to Perdition, Doctor Who: Season 5, Volume 3, Nature’s Great Events, Repo Men, You, Me & Dupree, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Bulletproof, Honey.

September 8 – Brooklyn’s Finest, Brothers, When In Rome, The Box, The Blind Side, Creation, A Single Man.

September 9 – Blood: The Last Vampire, Dragon Ball Z Kai Collection 1, Subway, The Fifth Element, The Last Battle, Paper Heart, Donnie Darko, The Day of the Triffids.

September 15 – Yellowstone, The Greatest, Thunderbirds: Volumes 1-6, Cats & Dogs, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, Elf, Speed Racer, The Matrix, TMNT, Letters to Juliet, Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue, She’s Out of My League.

September 16 – The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, A River Runs Through It.

September 22 Robin HoodWiggles: Let’s Eat, The Other Man, The Spy Next Door, Hot Tub Time Machine, The Simpsons: Season 13, Glee: The Complete First Season, Black Lightning.

September 29 – Charlie’s Angels, The Back Up Plan, Stomp the Yard: Homecoming, Midnight Express, Easy Rider, Suck.
