Dynasties to End Ratings Rule

Dynasties’ rule ends tonight (TVNZ 1, 7.00) ahead of the season premiere of Victoria and the ratings winner’s March 27 release on Blu-ray and 4K-UHD.

Last week’s penultimate episode crushed the first half of TVNZ 2’s Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens and topped Three’s Married at First Sight Australia in the core 25-54, 18-49 and 18-54 demographics.

MAFS became more competitive towards the end of its broadcast in the 25-54 demo but Dynasties won three of the five quarter-hour segments in which they competed.

However, the rest of TVNZ 1’s line-up quickly shed viewers and while MAFS’ popularity helped Three’s NZ TV premiere of The Breaker Upperers to out-rate the free-to-air competition, not so Sky Sport 1’s live One Day International cricket coverage.

The popularity of MAFS and TBU led Three to easily win the night with the biggest FTA shares of the core commercial demos.
